It is in the nature of things that the transportation and logistics industry causes enormous amounts of climate-damaging CO2. Krügel Umzüge, headquartered in Hamburg, is one of the leading and largest removal companies in Germany.
Basically, we carry out removals around the clock and on a daily basis - nationally, throughout Europe and even "overseas". In order to complete each of these numerous removals quickly and smoothly, we need an impressive fleet of vehicles. Trucks, vans and special vehicles in various sizes. As an efficient removal company, Krügel not only takes care of the transportation itself. Krügel Umzüge is an active member of the "UmweltPartnerschaft Hamburg", an institution for the promotion of voluntary corporate environmental protection in Hamburg. For us and the other network members, it is important to act responsibly and innovatively for the environment and climate by means of individual measures. In this context, we have introduced and certified our sophisticated environmental management system based on DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 and are constantly driving it forward. We score particularly well in the areas of operational mobility, resource efficiency and recycling management.
Another contribution to climate-friendly removals is our "additional load" concept. Many removals leave several cubic meters of loading space in the removal van unused. These free spaces are ideal for filling up with other customers' removal goods. We even apply this principle to removals worldwide by offering consolidated containers for imports and exports at a fair price.

What do I get from a climate-neutral move with Krügel?
So how does Krügel Hamburg, as an exemplary removal company, manage to actively contribute to environmental protection? For example, we pay great attention to the topics of material procurement, material use and disposal. Our stable and recyclable reusable plastic boxes, the so-called confern moving boxes, are groundbreaking. Disposable packaging materials (such as conventional moving boxes) not only require a lot of energy to produce, but also generate a lot of waste after their often rapid demise. In contrast, our confern boxes are robust and extremely durable - they clearly beat cardboard boxes when it comes to sustainability.
If it should or must be "cellulose" for logistical or functional reasons, we prefer uncolored, extremely stable cardboard boxes with FSC® certification, which can also be reused several times. We replace plastic bubble wrap with reusable furniture covers made from recycled material. Speaking of recycling: it goes without saying that we consistently separate waste at every location and, with the help of certified partners, ensure that recyclable materials are correctly fed into the circular economy.
However, the focus on sustainability actually starts much earlier: with the delivery of the packaging material. By optimizing material planning on a software basis and also relying on purchasing pools with partner companies, we already save CO2 in the form of unnecessarily consumed fuel.

As part of the "Alliance for Development and Climate" (an initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)), what Dr. Gerd Müller, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, says also applies to them: "Climate protection is a question of survival for humanity. Let's face it: no move can (yet) be carried out without consuming resources and emitting CO2. However, in order to give our environmentally conscious customers the opportunity to carry out a climate-neutral move, the Krügel removal company works together with natureOffice. Within this framework, we can calculate the CO2 emissions of the individual move and offset them through a certified, regional climate protection project. You will receive a certificate to confirm this. It shows the amount of C02 offset and the climate protection project supported. Your move can be identified as climate-neutral at any time using an individual tracking number. You will receive the certificate directly from natureOffice after your booking.
