Packing service/unpacking service for fragile items
We would be happy to give you a brief insight into the basics of Krügel Umzüge's packing service: when it comes to packing porcelain and crockery, for example, easy-breakage points such as handles and spouts of jugs and tureens need to be protected with particular care. Rolls of packing paper are wrapped around the spouts and handles. The lids of jugs are removed, first packed individually and then again with the main part as a single unit. Plate pads should always be larger than the diameter of the plates. The bottom layer consists of packing paper and pad. This is followed by alternating plates and pads. No piece of porcelain should come into direct contact with the other. The plates are placed upright in a porcelain box. A porcelain box is well packed when the individual units sit tightly (but not too tightly!) in the box and the individual items cannot bump into each other. Would you like to check your packed box again before moving? Lift it up and shake it gently. If the contents sound like bumping porcelain, you should definitely check the box again. Proper packing and unpacking are the be-all and end-all of transportation and moving.
Wine bottles and other bottles are ideally packed in bottle sleeves and/or bottle cartons with honeycomb inserts. Packing glass: Glasses are first packed in pads and then in packing paper and stowed upright in porcelain boxes. The areas between two layers of glass are padded with packing paper. Sounds complicated - but the Krügel professionals know how to do it like the back of their hand.
Professional packaging of books
An important rule for a successful packing and unpacking service: For all boxes, always make sure you only pack up to the carrying handles! This will prevent pinched fingers and boxes that are too heavy. Books are packed back to back, records only upright and crosswise in a book box. This prevents them from being pushed into each other. Please pack book boxes with only one layer of books so that the box does not become too heavy. The gaps and the entire empty space can be filled with lighter items such as cushions. The books are removed from the shelf row by row. Book boxes should be numbered consecutively.
Speaking of boxes: Packed boxes are best labeled with details of the contents and destination (e.g. living room or bedroom). Marking is done with moving stickers on the front of the box. Boxes containing fragile removal goods must also be clearly labeled. This will make packing and unpacking your books, documents and other items a breeze. And if you find it too time-consuming, you know that Krügel will take care of it!
Packing service/unpacking service for clothing and pictures
We transport hanging clothes for your private move in clothes boxes. We take great care not to hang too many items of clothing in one box. We prefer to use an additional clothes box - this prevents creases. Pictures or mirrors are first packed in paper blankets and/or bubble wrap and then placed in variable picture boxes before they go on their journey for the move. A set of variable boxes consists of four individual parts that are inserted into each other in a clockwise direction. They can always be adapted to the size of the item to be packed. Particularly large pictures, mirrors and glass plates are first wrapped in paper blankets or packing blankets and then packed in crates.
Packing upholstered furniture
By using protective covers made of plastic or fabric, upholstered furniture is protected from soiling during transportation and moving. Our experienced movers pack mattresses in special mattress boxes. A film provides the mattresses with additional protection against soiling. Mattresses and carpets must never be folded for transportation in a removal van. In the case of oversized mattresses, two boxes should be inserted into each other instead. Pillows and blankets should be packed in protective covers for the move.
